1. Regular Inspection

Inspect your stucco exterior twice a year (spring and fall). Look for:

  • Hairline cracks (less than 1/8 inch)
  • Discoloration or staining
  • Bulging or soft spots indicating moisture intrusion
  • Peeling paint or white, powdery residue (efflorescence)

2. Cleaning Your Stucco

  • Pre-wet wall from bottom to top.
  • Rinse from top to bottom using a hose with a spray nozzle.
  • Apply mild detergent to stains and scrub gently.
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Tip: Avoid pressure washers to prevent damage.

3. Repairing Cracks and Holes

Small Cracks (under 1/8 inch):

  • Clean area with a brush.
  • Apply stucco-safe acrylic caulk.
  • Smooth and let cure.

Larger Cracks or Holes:

  • Remove loose stucco.
  • Apply bonding agent.
  • Patch with stucco mix and match texture.
  • Let cure fully before painting.
