Carr Workplaces Reopens Manhattan Location
Carr Workplaces has reopened its coworking location at 745 Fifth Ave. in Manhattan. CSO Architects designed the newly renovated flexible office space.
Upgrades include a new reception area and social hub. The location also features 68 private offices, meeting rooms for groups of various sizes, on-site notary, 24/7 security, private conference rooms and a business center.
In January, Carr Workplaces reopened another one of its coworking locations, at 300 New Jersey Ave. NW in Washington, D.C. The company has been occupying the 27,500-square-foot space since 2011. CSO Architects worked alongside Carr for that project as well.
A Plaza District office building
The 34-story property at 745 Fifth Ave. is a 565,000-square-foot high-rise completed in 1930. Paramount Group acquired it in 2002 from Urban Retail Properties for $268.5 million, CommercialEdge data shows. The high-rise is in the Plaza District, steps away from Central Park.
Most recently renovated in 1991, the building features floorplates between 3,500 and 24,000 square feet, as well as 100,000 square feet of retail. The tenant roster at the LEED-Gold certified property includes Searchlight Capital, Metropolitan Equities, Heller Realty and Hildred Capital Partners, among others.
The coworking sector is expected to experience a dynamic 2025 due to more businesses opting for in-person work. This shift will be accompanied by a rise in hybrid-work models, driving demand for flexible coworking spaces. As the number of clients will keep growing, collaboration between coworking operators will be crucial for ensuring the sector’s resilience.
