Our food is tapas style and people have loved it for the last 12 years. We opened in 2012. With an indoor fireplace in the winter months or a firepit and heaters on the patio in the fall and spring, you will find a spot to enjoy yourself with family, friends, dates, girls’ night out, or solo to enjoy wine and or your favorite cocktail.”

Franklinton Arts Board President Sophie Hess states, “In the heart of Columbus, just west of Downtown, you’ll find the Franklinton Arts District. This vibrant area is home to artist studios, performance venues, galleries, and maker spaces, all dedicated to nurturing a dynamic arts community in historic Franklinton. Mark your calendar for Franklinton Friday, a monthly celebration of art, performance, and community that takes place on the second Friday of each month. Stroll through 400 West Rich and Chromedge, two historic buildings transformed into bustling artist studios. And while you’re there, be sure to visit Land Grant Brewing Company, a local spot known for its distinctive beers and its role as a community gathering place.”

To create art pieces of your own and collaborate with others, Karen Ramey from Artistic Sisters shares “The Artistic Sisters Studio Space is just waiting for your creativity. The studio is a place where you can join other crafty friends for open studio time, classes, workshops, and so much more. You can even rent out the entire studio for your group or event. Each workspace features a rolling, adjustable chair, spacious table with Ott light and cutting mat, as well as a trash can, drink holder, and multiple electrical outlets.” 

Additionally, owner and artist Kristin Harlander-Sony of Square Canvas, says “At Square Canvas we offer social events for all ages in and out of the studio. We offer paint and sips at local bars and restaurants, open studio sessions with wood and canvas items available to paint, birthday parties and private event rentals, team building activities and workspace for businesses, and camps and special events throughout the year. We have an entire splatter paint studio and offer glow-in-the-dark events as well.” 

Lisa Bare of Bareclay speaks on joining collaborative spaces to meet people and socialize. She says, “One of the hardest things about moving is meeting new friends. Over the years there have been hundreds of amazing relationships formed over the course of a pottery class at Bareclay studio. You may find a new hobby, knock something off your bucket list or meet your new best friend at my pottery place.”

Over-The-Rhine is a great starting point and is in the heart of the city and is a quick hop to the most popular destinations. Living in the suburbs, I also love how easy it is to access the bike and walking trails along the Miami River. Plus, there are so many beautiful parks including Ault Park, Eden Park, George Rogers Clark Park, and Smale Riverfront Park”

Columbus

For those interested in learning a new skill, the Columbus Garden School should be on your list. Owner Tisa Watts says, “The Columbus Garden School features fun classes in gardening, homesteading, herbalism, crafting, and basic construction skills taught by experts. From garden design to starting seeds to canning pickles, we give students the tools to live a more eco-friendly and sustainable life. Learn about beekeeping, rewiring an outlet, or mixing up a custom batch of fire cider!” 

Jayda Parker-Reynald from Market on the Green suggests stopping by when she states, “Market On the Green is an Urban Farmers Market Located in Whitehall. It’s a summer market that runs from June to August; It is every Tuesday from 4 pm-7 pm. Even though we are a market, we do our due diligence to get the community connected with various resources by inviting different companies and organizations out to set up information tables.” 

According to photographer Joanna Andres, “The Columbus Park of Roses is a hidden gem that should be on every new resident’s bucket list. This beautiful park boasts lush gardens filled with vibrant roses and other stunning florals. It’s the perfect place to stroll, relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature.”

Just outside of Columbus, Grove City, Ohio, is a visit for those wishing to explore more than just the city. Tiffany Kirkbride from Visit Grove City says, “Grove City, Ohio, is home to many great things like the largest 3D stereo painting, the largest paintball park in the midwest, and a Historic Town Center filled with local shops, restaurants, and experiences. Not to mention two Columbus Metro Parks, Scioto Grove, and Battelle Darby Creek, with many amenities including fishing, disc golf, camping, bison viewing, hiking, biking, and canoe/kayak access; just to name a few.”
